Irrespective of where you sit in the ideological divide, it can't be denied that Michael Moore films are definitely entertaining to watch. While some will be turned off by his ultra left views and arrogant behaviour, the way that he brings genuine emotion and humour in equal parts to his documentaries make his products always throughly engaging.

There is some truly remarkable footage here, the shots of US President George W Bush reading a book to school children as his country was under attack too absurd to believe if you weren't watching the footage. A montage of politicians seeming way too jovial before delivering supposedly emotional speeches also gives us remarkable insight.

Where Moore succeeds so brilliantly here is his ability to encapsulate a range of issues while manipulating our emotions throughout. His opening montage exploring Bush's corrupt rise to power is five minutes of brilliance that evokes our anger towards the Republican and Democrat senators. Then there is the incredible montage of events of that horrible day, utilising footage and sounds from the day to really pluck at the heart strings without ever seeming manipulative.

The second half of the documentary isn't as strong as Moore pushes his anti Republican message, but there are still many great revelations, including the government push to target black Americans for recruitment to the army.

With Netflix producing brilliant docos like The Keepers, Fahrenheit 9/11 may soon lose its place at the top of this list, but on sheer entertainment value alone this one takes top spot thus far.
