4. Journey Into Mystery - Thor

In Thor, Puente Antiguo is the small New Mexico town where Jane Foster and Darcy have moved in order to study atmospheric phenomena, and an establishing shot briefly features a billboard which reads, "Land of Enchantment...Journey into Mystery".

This might seem totally innocuous, but it's actually nodding towards Thor's comic book origins. He first appeared in a 1962 issue of Journey into Mystery as "The Mighty Thor", and after several years the comic was renamed with his namesake, owing to his popularity with fans.

Considering how Kenneth Branagh's focus was clearly on exploiting Shakespearean turmoil in the first Thor film, it's great that he also remembered to include some geeky, unexpected Easter eggs too, and in this case he delivered one of the MCU's more niche ones to date.
