14. Flying Jets Near An EMP

One can imagine that a military person, advisor or strategist would avoid seeing films like this since their kind are so often portrayed as stupid but did nobody on the writing staff pick up a phone and call one of them for advice? Or Bing for €œmilitary jets EMP€? For a start, all electronics on a military jet have to comply to standards that make them less susceptible to EMP but as one site (fairly easy to find) noted, there is almost nothing that can be done to shield completely against such a weapon. The military KNOW for an absolute FACT that these creatures can emit high powered EMPs so what do they do? Send in mult-million dollar aircraft to get knocked out of the sky and kill people that€™s what. Not a drone with a laser targeting that a Tomahawk missile could use as a marker, not even a guy on the ground to paint the target but no, full on loud as hell aircraft that are guaranteed to get destroyed. The US don€™t even like sending planes in when they can hit a target with pin point accuracy from miles away so this is just a childishly stupid mistake. One that they gleefully commit again later on in the film.
