Notable offenders: Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988), It (1990), House of 1000 Corpses (2003) Speaking of Pennywise the clown, this brings us to our next entry... clowns. They're supposed to entertain us, but thanks to the ever relentless horror genre, they more often than not terrify us. You have the painted on white skin, you have the big shoes, and of course that big red nose that seems to be there only to reinforce a clown's inherent creepiness. Let's go over a few of the most memorable creepy clowns that cinema has given us. You have six-year-old Michael Myers in John Carpenter€™s Halloween, who stabs his big sister with a kitchen knife while wearing a makeshift clown mask. You have Captain Spaulding from Rob Zombies's House of 1000 Corpses. And as we mentioned before, we have Pennywise the Dancing Clown who would love nothing more than to pull you into a storm drain just to watch you "float".
