Motive: Hannibal has very specific tastes.
What Makes It Insane? This scene was vomit-inducing: Hannibal has kidnapped Paul Krendler and has already opened up his skull. When Clarice wakes up, she has to witness Hannibal first lifting the skull off Krendler's head, then cutting out a piece of his brain and sautéing it. Hannibal then feeds Krendler his own brain, and he likes it. Hannibal, classy as always, serves it with red wine and classical music in the background.
