The Murder: Cutting out eyes and insertion of a spike in the ear. Who: Byron. By Whom: Lieutenant Chang. Motive: Because he could. Who knows? He already got the information he needed, anyway. What Makes It Insane? Lieutenant Chang was already proven to be a corrupt, violent cop at the start of the movie. He cut off people's arms, he cut people in half with his sword, and then went on to torture Byron for information, in a club, with people watching silently, occasionally wincing. When he retrieves the info, he kills the guy anyway: he cuts out his eyes and then inserts a spike into an ear. Pretty insane, no?
