Though Star Wars: The Last Jedi left many fans flummoxed if not irate, it'd be rude not to see how the sequel trilogy closes out with this climactic, J.J. Abrams-directed instalment.

Given Abrams' fondness for nostalgia and playing the hits, it's widely expected that he'll deliver a more crowd-pleasing finale that could even walk back a few of Rian Johnson's less-popular creative calls.

In addition to delivering an epic final battle between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), Episode IX will also be tasked with allowing fans to say goodbye to Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), while likely setting up the inevitable next trilogy of movies in some form.

Regardless of how good or bad Episode IX actually is, you can expect fans to argue about it until you're tired of hearing about the film.
