8. PREDICTED - The Sword In The Stone

Release Date: 23rd November 2022

While Hollywood has failed recently to convince people to go and see a King Arthur movie, that was an entirely different prospect to a remake of the delightful Sword In The Stone. It was funny, beautifully animated and the story was captivating for a broad spectrum of audience demographics. It's a slightly less conventional choice for live-action treatment given the more modern focus of that slate, but that doesn't mean it's unwelcome.

According to The DisInsider, production of this is actually already undwerway, havingbegun in September 2018 in Belfast. It's being made at “Titanic Studios,” where Game of Thrones was also filmed, which is handy, since Thrones writer and producer Bryan Cogman is writing the script. That probably doesn't mean it'll be full of sex and gore, but it's still a very good pedigree for it to boast.

Release Date: 16th December, 2022

As mentioned, Disney's plan is to interchange Avatar and Star Wars movies each Christmas, with the return to a galaxy far, far away pencilled in for December 2022 - three years after the release of The Rise of Skywalker.

In truth, that's a welcome break for the franchise, but what will it return with? Disney have announced two different trilogies - one from Rian Johnson, and another from David Benioff & D.B. Weiss - and yet there are only three release dates. There's conflicting information on which will come first, but given the most recent reports that D&D's would be moving along later this year, it looks like there's will be here first.
