The original Star Wars script went through a multitude of drafts and variations until Lucas finally arrived at the story and characters that we know and love today. Luke Skywalkers name was Starkiller at first, and he was also a 60-year-old general and a dwarf at one point. Han Solo was originally envisioned as a large, green-skinned monster with gills. Even the force wasnt safe, it was initially conceived as the Kyber crystal, like a galactic holy grail. Wonder how much of the original draft actually made it into the canon.
16. Ford And Hamill Were Mischievous On Set
According to Harrison Ford, he and Mark Hamill would usually mess around and not concentrate on their work whenever acting legend Alec Guinness was not on set. But when Guinness was around, they were much more professional. Apparently the crew werent interested in the production too, considering it unintentionally hilarious and a mere childrens film. That said, it wasnt as if Guinness was a big fan of the film anyway as he reportedly disliked the dialogue. However, he did admire Lucas and liked the story of A New Hope at least. Contrary to popular belief, he was unhappy with being killed off.
