10. That Suicide Subplot - Nine Lives

When Tom Brand's (Kevin Spacey) son David (Robbie Amell) loses control of his father's company and feels that he's let him down, he heads to the roof of his building, seemingly with the intent of committing suicide.

The whole scene plays out as such before he leaps and it's revealed that he's wearing a parachute, making a publicity stunt out of the whole affair.

Someone seriously sat down and thought, "You know what this movie about a man turning into a cat, aimed at children, really needs? An implied suicide attempt."

Tonally it's just completely off, even if it's still only the third or fourth worst thing about the entire film.
