Sigourney€™s father was also a pioneer as he developed many of the standard operating procedures for network TV €“ many of these which are still in use today. Among these innovations were networks producing their own shows and selling advertising time. Her mother, Elizabeth Inglis, was an actress who appeared in the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The 39 Steps.
