25 Greatest Movie Endings Since 2000

23. This Is The End (2013)

The Ending: Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen both ascend to Heaven, where they meet Craig Robinson (all playing themselves), who is now an angel, makes them angels too and tells them that anything they want can be conjured up. Seth gets a Segway, while Jay wishes for the Backstreet Boys, who magically appear in slick white suits and sing their hit tune Everybody (Backstreet's Back) to play the movie out. Why It's Awesome: Because not every ending needs to be all doom and gloom, and here's something of a troll ending that doesn't endeavour to take itself one iota seriously. It's a fun cameo that the generation most likely to be watching this movie will revel in, a silly dose of nostalgia at the end of a savagely funny apocalyptic comedy. In the unexpected stakes, few movies comedic or otherwise can beat it.
