10. Stain Boy - The Adventures of Stain Boy
We are all too familiar with superheroes who posses not so super abilities. Tim Burton has managed to create the most useless of all super powers with Stain Boy who can, you guessed it, produce stains. While his opponents are extremely average and strange, Stain Boy always comes out on top proving what most do: never underestimate the underdog. What makes Stain Boy even better is the fact that he is as underwhelmed with his abilities as most of us and is, rather than proud of his achievements, just as underwhelmed by his constant rise over evil.
9. Mrs. Beauregarde (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory)
The only thing worse than a mother who dismisses her child is a mother who feeds off of her child. Mrs. Beauregarde is a sad, pathetic woman who has seen many ships sail away from her dream port and has found that, by pushing her competitive daughter to succeed, she can taste the sweetness of victory once again. Just as we have all known what it means to be guilty by association, we have also experienced the fruit of others labors. Violets mother is no different from us, which leaves her character unbelievably human.
8. The Hatter (Alice In Wonderland)
When the Hatter is first introduced, we were stunned by his crazy appearance, but even further fascinated by his witty quips and confusing monologues. It is during his recounting of his job with the White Queen that we fall in love with the deterioration of his mind and spirit. He was once gifted, but allowed horrific experiences to ruin it all. We can all sympathize with his fear and paranoia, but are inspired by his willingness to put it all aside for a chance to defeat the evil Red Queen.
