25 Greatest Tim Burton Characters Of All Time

1. The Inventor (Edward Scissorhands)

inventor2 Loneliness is a disease. It starts as a pang and swells up until it completely overtakes our lives. When the unnamed inventor realized at a very old age that he had spent his entire life staving off relationships with humans to feed his desire to invent and create new and wonderful items for families to enjoy together, he realizes how empty his life has become. His insurmountable loneliness drives him to create a human companion, the son he never had, named Edward. He and his son spend every minute together, the inventor teaching his design everything he needs to know about the world outside the walls of his castle. Sadly, though, the inventor dies without having taught Edward all that he needed to know and without having finished building him. What is so captivating about the inventor is that his own inability to find importance in relationships leads to Edward€™s most important lesson, which is loneliness. No one really knows how long Edward is locked away in his castle after his inventor passes away and, more importantly, no one knows exactly how much his inventor taught him about life. The inventor€™s demise sets his creation up for a life that mimics his own - full of no one. The irony is beautiful. It€™s a classic case of too little, too late that made all of us realize how important it is to have people in our lives. Nobody wants to be lonely and work is not the most important thing in life. Make time for loved ones, come home early once in a while, and never take the time you have with your family for granted. You never know when your time might be up and what unfinished business you€™ll be leaving behind. Agree? Disagree? Let us know in the comments section below.
