Frank Darabont's sci-fi movie is, on the surface, a relatively familiar alien invasion movie, about a group of survivors trapped inside a supermarket as a mist envelops their town, while alien monsters begin picking off the town's residents. However, with its well-drawn characters, trip-wire tension and strong visual effects, The Mist is nothing short of a modern horror classic. Best Moment: The devastating twist ending which, due to its shocking nature, won't be ruined here, but needless to say, if you haven't seen the film before, there is no way you will see it coming. Prepare to cry yourself to sleep, or you might find it so horrifying that you end up laughing hysterically as a defense mechanism.
