2. How Many Cops Fired Their Weapons In The Show?
This is, without a doubt, the most mind-blowing fact about the series. During the course of its five season, sixty episode run, the primarily police-focused drama only features three instances of a cops weapon being fired. All three of those instances, incredibly, are by the same cop Roland Pryzbylewski (Jim True-Frost). The hapless Prez discharges his firearm first at a wall while cleaning his gun, second drunkenly into the air, and third tragically and fatally at a plain clothes police officer that he mistakes for a drug dealer. It is interesting that the only cases of a policeman shooting his gun come from someone that is portrayed as hopelessly out of his depth these cops do not fire their guns lightly on the whole. Prez, of course, redeems himself in season four when, in his new role as a schoolteacher, he becomes a mentor for several troubled street kids.
