25 Mind-Blowing James Bond Facts You Need To Know

4. Austin Powers Isn't The Only Bond Parody

If you asked anyone to name a spoof of the spy genre, Austin Powers springs to mind.

But there is another parody of Bond that even the biggest spy fans have never heard of. Did you know that Sean Connery's brother, Neil, starred in a spy spoof called Operation Kid Brother?

Weirdly, this comedy was released the exact same year that Connery played Bond in You Only Live Twice. On top of that, another Bond spoof called Casino Royale was released the same year. That's right! A Bond film and two Bond spoofs came out at the same time. What are the odds?

To ensure people would know it was a Bond spoof, the producers changed the title of Operation Kid Brother to OK Connery. It didn't make a difference since the film tanked and received scathing reviews. Weirdly, several actors from the Bond series appeared in OK Connery including Adolfo Celi, who played Largo in Thunderball.

When Sean Connery refused to reprise the role of Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the producers of OK Connery suggested that Neil Connery play the role. Considering Neil Connery is so bad at acting, all his dialogue in this film was dubbed, I'm not surprised he wasn't cast.
