13. Christopher Robin

Christopher Robin Ewan McGregor
Disney

Release Date: August 3

Billed As: A grown-up Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor) has lost his sense of adventure, so Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and co. visit Christopher to rejuvenate his joy for life.

Hype: Simply, this looks delightful, and with Finding Neverland's Marc Forster at the helm of a script co-written by Oscar winner Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), it's certainly in good hands.

McGregor seems like a perfect fit for an older Christopher, but the most alluring aspect of the marketing so far has been the rather unconventional, stripped-down design of Pooh and his pals. Rather than exaggerate the cuteness to excruciating levels, there's a more charmingly scaled-back "tatty teddy" feel to the characters.

What it'll certainly lack in explosions and bombast, it should more than compensate with charm and nostalgic pull. Have some tissues at the ready.
