13. The Argument/Debate Over Dinner (Jurassic Park)

Jp Dinner Following the "ride" and subsequent tour of Jurassic Park's laboratories - and prior to the ill-fated park tour - the protagonists of Jurassic Park sit down to lunch (chilli and sea-bass) in anticipation of the upcoming events. However, when John Hammond and lawyer Donald Gennaro start talking about the money that will be made from the park, Ian Malcolm steps in - staggered by the lack of humility - and questions whether the dinosaurs were created for the right reasons and indeed whether they should have been created at all (calling it "the rape of the natural world"). Subsequently, Ellie Sattler questions whether they can control a previously extinct ecosystem and Alan Grant admits that he has no idea what to ultimately expect from this discovery. Their views shock Hammond - he is surprised by the fact that the scientists aren't convinced by the park, while the "bloodsucking lawyer" is the only one on his side.
