25 Movie Sequels That Will Kick Ass In 2018

It's something of a shame that we won't get to see Guillermo Del Toro's sequel to his successful sci-fi monster movie mash-up, but at least we have Steven DeKnight - of Netflix's Daredevil fame - in his place. On top of that, hiring John Boyega for the lead is a great move, particularly with his star rightly in the ascendancy.

The first film didn't do all that well domestically, but a huge international haul - particularly in Chinese - meant that the sequel was assured and if they can turn more attention to the film on US soil, they should be in for a bigger success.

So really, it'd be wrong to expect much of a deviation from what made the original popular. We're going to see a lot of action, heavy effects and Boyega playing the charismatic human heart. If they pull it all off, expect a shared universe of sorts, with rumours of a cross-over with the new Monsterverse offering an intriguing possibility.
