22. The Canterville Ghost - Imelda Staunton & Toby Jones

Based on Oscar Wilde's short story, The Canterville Ghost is the tale of an American family who move in to the Canterville Chase, a mansion in London that has been haunted for 300 years by the ghost Sir Simon De Canterville. They're initially skeptical, but the ghost tries his damnedest to get them to move out terrified, only to find that they're impossible to scare and even harder to shift. If you think that sounds like the plot of Beetlejuice, you would be correct as the two are definitely distant relatives. The fact that Sir Simon also narrates from his point of view and is increasingly terorrised by the live house owners also fits that parallel. This latest animated adaptation of the story features the vocal talents of three Harry Potter actors - Imelda Staunton who played Dolores Umbridge, Toby Jones (Dobby) and Stephen Fry who narrated the audiobooks.
