The climactic battle of Episode V was bound to be great; Han Solo was frozen, Luke had been warned against going up against the Sith Lord, and audiences were aware that a trap had been set for the young Jedi.
The duel by the two Skywalkers was so much fun to watch, and this image set the battle up to be a big one. Again, the silhouette of these figures adds a degree of mystery and ambigouity to what could easily have been a good versus evil kind of fight.
