25 Predictions For Summer 2016's Rotten Tomatoes Scores
10. The BFG (83%)
Predicted Critical Consensus: "Another majestic wonder from the king of the adventure genre, Steven Spielberg's The BFG is an entertaining, poignant and stylistically splendid take on Roald Dahl's beloved novel." As Spielberg can pretty much knock material like this out in his sleep, it'll really be down to how strong the late Melissa Mathison's (E.T.) script is. What's been shown so far looks visually terrific and appears to capture the tone of the source material well, so it's hard to expect the film bombing with critics. Worst case scenario, this one'll probably be a harmless, treacly treat for young audiences and at least bearable for adults. If it somehow slid into rotten territory, it'd be a huge shock, given that Spielberg's last critically-bashed film as 1997's The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
