Predicted Critical Consensus: "David Ayer delivers an appropriately demented adaptation of the beloved comic book, aided by a terrific ensemble cast, entertaining action and knowing humour." Here's another movie that's going to be extremely hard to judge ahead of time: Suicide Squad sure has cut some flashy trailers to date, but one major question remains: what sort of tone is the movie trying to strike? Is the film going to be a mess of moods? Even so, many critics will likely be won over by the huge ensemble cast and refreshingly unique approach to the comic book genre. Though he'll be inevitably compared to Heath Ledger's Oscar-winning Joker, expect Jared Leto along with Margot Robbie to steal the lion's share of the acclaim, even if the rest of the movie ends up being bad or merely satisfactory. Ayer is completely hit-and-miss as a filmmaker, so that sadly doesn't give us much to go on. What are your predictions for this Summer's biggest movies? Shout them out in the comments!
