Predicted Critical Consensus: "Though perhaps not one of the finer entries into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ant-Man delivers heart and thrilling action, living up to its pint-sized protagonist." It's fair to say that few will be expecting Ant-Man to be among the better MCU movies to date, owing to both a divisive first trailer and the countless production problems the project has had. That said, Marvel haven't turned in a bad movie yet, so it's probably not going to be a trainwreck either, just one of the runts of the Marvel litter alongside The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2 and the Thor movies. Of course, it's possible that enough of Edgar Wright's DNA might live on in the final script for it to be a pleasant surprise, but it's definitely best to keep your expectations middling for this one. Expect a lightly enjoyable yet disposable action yarn and little else.
