Guardians of the Galaxy got humour right. A bunch of space outlaws who were familiar with conflict making jokes in dangerous situations makes sense. However, in other movies, a lot of the humour has seemed forced and out of place. Take Thor: The Dark World, for example. During the Convergence - an event that could have sent the entire universe in to chaos - the likes of Darcy Lewis and Ian Boothby were still making light-hearted quips and getting laughs out of the audience. How are we expected to believe anything is a credible threat to Thor when characters without any superpowers are seemingly taking the situation in their stride? Thor: The Dark World wasn't the only movie in phase two to be guilty of this, but it was certainly the worst culprit.
