Ian Boothby and Richard in Thor: The Dark World, the needless inclusion of Yinsen - who perished in the first Iron Man movie - in a flashback at the start of Iron Man 3, the needless and non-constructive inclusion of Bruce Banner in the post-credits scene of Iron Man 3, Georges Batroc's brief appearance at the start of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (seriously, what a waste) and a plethora of cameos across the spectrum all make for a lot of wasted time. It's not a massive complaint - it's not as though the results of needless character inclusions are catastrophic - but you can't help but feel that it's taking something away from what the films might have been without cramming in characters who offer very little to their plots.
