Another significant point of contention prior to the movie's release was the rather dubious standard of the visual effects. Though many remarked that the CGI would probably be tweaked substantially up until the film's release, it can now be reported that the effects aren't really much better than what's been seen in the advertising. Though the larger dinosaurs tend to look better because they're generally shot further away to capture their entire size, the raptors often look downright appalling, especially when they end up running alongside Chris Pratt's motorcycle in the film's finale. Also, this above scene of dinosaurs running has an unsavoury motion blur that's really quite unpleasant. There's the overwhelming feeling as a result that the film won't age anywhere near as well as the original, which while starting to look a bit dated 22 years later, still makes impressively economic use of CGI and advanced lighting techniques, whereas Jurassic World really doesn't.
