25 WTF Moments From Jurassic World

3. It Borrows From Aliens, Avatar & Godzilla

There's a lot action-wise that feels derived from much better action films from recent and not-so-recent memory. There's the military guys being picked off one by one by the Indominus as their camera feeds report everything and their lifelines fade off (Aliens, anyone?), the jungle shootout and supporting character killed off in a helicopter explosion without much fanfare (Avatar?), and a finale in which two monsters team up to take on a bigger, badder enemy (Godzilla). Though these ideas have admittedly been used by a lot of other films also, and some might argue the aforementioned films aren't the progenitors of the idea, it's kinda hard to believe that Colin Trevorrow didn't draw on them for a little inspiration given the visual and thematic similarity to each.
