Easily the most surprising thing about this film is the number of fantastic actors, some known to be his close friends and others not, that Sandler has managed to rope into appearing with him here. Whether it's Nick Nolte playing his dad or Harvey Keitel showing up as a mustache-twirling douche, it's simply fascinating to behold. Other noted actors who show up include Luke Wilson, Steve Buscemi and John Turturro. In their defense, none of them overly embarrass themselves except perhaps for Buscemi (though more on him later), and to be fair to Nolte, he completely hurls himself into his role, being so much more convincing than the script should ever demand of him. He and others provide some light relief from the terrible sight gags, but also sometimes get immersed in them themselves...
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
