It was at this point that Narcissa Malfoy reached her tether with Dark magic. She had never been a fan of Harry and her loyalty to her family and Voldemort has always been what she was about. However, it's in this moment where her clarity of motherhood prevails and she realises that her son means more to her than some evil guy with no nose. So despite everything that she has done to antagonise Harry up until this point, she could have easily had told Voldemort that Harry was alive after he had told her about Draco's wellbeing. But why did Voldemort take her word for it? Surely he would have checked for himself that Harry was dead, or was he simply too arrogant?
