29 Brand New Characters Coming To MCU Phase 4

After Tony Stark sacrificed himself to save the universe and destroy Thanos, there is currently an Iron Man shaped hole in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It seemed as though Spider-Man would step up as the new Iron Man, however it's actually someone else who'll step up to the mantle. Riri Williams, aka Ironheart.

Of all the upcoming MCU newcomers, Riri Williams has been a part of the Marvel Universe the least amount of time. Introduced just five years ago, the teenage super genius has quickly become a fan favourite after building an Iron Man-esque suit of her own, and is set to star in her own series on Disney+, with Dominique Thorne playing the character.

Along side the likes of Shuri and Peter Parker, Riri will have company as one of the smartest young characters in the franchise, and adopting the Ironheart moniker will most certainly make her one of the most popular newcomers over the next few years.

In the comics, with Tony Stark in a coma after the second super hero civil war, Riri donned her suit, and with the help of an AI duplicate of Iron Man acted as something of a replacement for the incapacitated hero. Robert Downey Jr. may be done with the MCU for now, but could there be a chance his voice returns to be Riri's version of J.A.R.V.I.S or F.R.I.D.A.Y?
