3 Reasons G.I. Joe: Retaliation Was Far Better Than Rise Of Cobra

1. Cobra Done Right

Retaliation Cobra was a mess in the first film. While it was exciting to hear that Joseph Gordon Levitt was going to be playing the part, he only had a paltry two scenes and was never given the opportunity to shine. And then of course, there was the voice: not only was it completely different from the television show, but it sounded goofy like it was trying to be scary when Cobra's voice is usually whiny and wimpy (like it was in Retaliation). Then there was the mask. The whole point of The Rise of Cobra was to lead up to the masking of Cobra and to set up the franchise, and I don't know about the rest of you, but when I saw the reveal of that completely stupid mask in the last few moments of Cobra, I laughed and rolled my eyes. It was a particularly dumb decision in a movie already lacking too many brain cells. Thankfully, Retaliation did not make the same mistake. Do you agree? Share your own thoughts below.
