9. Up - Grape Soda

Toy Story gets another visual reference in Up which might be lost on many viewers both on account of its size and the obscurity of the reference itself. Ellie gives Carl a small gift - a Grape Soda bottle cap which he fixes to his jumper. Pixar like to make up their own brands to inhabit their universe, and in addition to Dinoco and the PIzza Planet franchise they included the Grape Soda company in their very first release, Toy Story. In the original movie the soft drink brand features in the Buzz Lightyear commercial - a fictional brand you can buy selling another fictional brand you can't.
