30 Behind The Scenes Shots That Completely Change The Tone Of Great Movies

6. "It's A Bird, It's A Plane, It's A Lot Of Wires!"

What do you mean, Superman can't really fly? Filmed in what looks like the saddest movie set ever, Superman is flying through the air thanks to some nifty wires that allow him to fly past disinterested crew members and large, wooden spools. Certainly no evil villain could stand up to such a mighty hero who appears to be levitating about 10 feet off the ground. It kind of takes all the fun out of Superman knowing that he probably filmed those epic flying scenes while bored cast and crew sighed deeply and looked at their watches while wishing for lunch. Maybe if they pumped the John Williams score over some loudspeakers, we'd see a little enthusiasm out of the Superman crew.

5. Pan's Reading Material

Pan's Labyrinth was the creepy 2006 movie that seemed to win every award imaginable and sent critics falling over each other to heap praise on Guillermo Del Toro's fantasy. Part of that movie was the Faun, a character who guides our heroes to the fantasy world and manages to pull off the sideburn beard at the same time. Unfortunately, seeing Doug Jones in his full Faun outfit and reading a comic book seems to take some of the fantasy out of Pan's Labyrinth especially because it looks like the Faun is ready to start giggling like a schoolgirl at any moment.

4. Just A Pool Party With Your Friends

For all the flack Titanic has taken for being a chick flick, it actually was a terrific movie with James Cameron being obsessive about the details of that night. He even went back and corrected certain stars in the sky for the re-release because Neil Degrasse Tyson informed him that certain constellations were in the wrong position for that time of the year. So, when Rose and Jack fell into the Atlantic Ocean, you could almost feel how cold they were. Between the breath being seen in the night air and the chattering of teeth, it almost felt like you were in the North Atlantic with them. To shatter your illusion, here is James Cameron calmly explaining something to the leads while the extras in the background daydream about an older and hotter Kate Winslett.
