21. Maximus Vs. Several Gladiators - Gladiator (2000)
A mix of Roman history, myth, Shakespeare and good ole fashioned Hollywood epicness, Russell Crowe's Maximus Decimus is about as traditional a manly, yet tragic, hero as youre likely to come across. With everything you could think of taken from him by the corrupt Emperor Commodus, all he has left to fight for is justice, and before he dies, justice is what he shall reinstate and receive. Are you not entertained?! Is this not why youre here?! These words yelled by Maximus before he hurls a sword into a viewing box are almost quoted as much as the husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered son speech from later on. They come right after he easily defeats a gauntlet of challengers with seemingly minimum effort. The greatest part of this scene is the fact that Maximus flat-out mocks the crowd and get rewarded for it via hundreds of fans chanting his name. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI1ylg4GKv8
