30 Greatest Marvel Movie Villains
1. Loki - Tom Hiddleston (Thor 1 & 2, The Avengers)
As entertaining as these 29 villains are, they don't quite measure up to the undisputed King of the MCU's baddies, Loki.
Though initially appearing to be Loki's lesser half-brother, he quickly carved out a name for himself by smartly manipulating Thor into getting banished from Asgard so that he himself would be the next in line for Odin's throne.
That's just the beginning, though: The Avengers saw Loki obtain the Tesseract and use the Chitauri to attempt to conquer Earth. Cue some truly delicious, Joss Whedon-fueled interactions between Loki and the superhero supergroup, most memorably The Hulk slamming him around like a ragdoll.
While he showed up to aid Thor in fighting the Dark Elves in Thor: The Dark World, it was all in the service of stealing Odin's throne, where Loki currently resides.
Basically, Loki is a fantastic mixture of mischief, egotism and childish jealousy, making him both a palpable villain despite his slender frame and also absolutely hilarious thanks to Tom Hiddleston's masterful performance.
When people complain about Marvel's villains mostly lacking personality, this is the precise reason why: Loki is such a high bar to measure up to you.
