20. Gilad Pellaeon
One of the few Imperial officers respected equally by the Empire and the New Republic, Pellaeon served for seven decades in the military spanning from the Clone Wars to the Yuuzhan Vong War. He was present at the Battle of Endor where he witnessed the Imperial fleet crumble after the loss of the Emperor. Five years after Endor he became second in command to Grand Admiral Thrawn who came extremely close to destroying the New Republic before being assassinated. Years later he became the Head of the Imperial military and negotiated a groundbreaking peace treaty with the New Republic. Later, he led Imperial forces during the Yuuzhan Vong wars before finally retiring from military service after decades of near constant warfare. An excellent commander who would not tolerate sloppiness of inefficiency and by despising both Darth Vader and the Deaths Star projects, he represents the human side of the Empire. Pelleon shows that not every high ranking imperial was a monster and that many of them were just doing their jobs, adding a bit of needed realism to the Star Wars universe.
