28. Count Dooku
One of the most respected Jedi of the Old Republic before becoming disillusioned with the Order. He trained Qui-Gon Jinn before leaving the Jedi Order for good, later becoming the Apprentice of Darth Sidious and forming the Confederacy of Independent Systems to fight the Republic. He lead the Confederacy during the Clone Wars but his death at the hands of Anakin Skywalker proved a blow that they could not handle and the war was lost soon after. Played ably by the awesome Christopher Lee, Dooku is a charismatic leader and in the Expanded Universe is considered to be equaled in force power and light saber prowess by only Yoda and Mace Windu although Anakin Skywalker eventually becomes skilled enough to defeat him. He is the stopgap apprentice used by Sidious between Darth Maul and Darth Vader and is used to distract the Jedi from discovering the true nature of his Sith master.
