Natalie Portman spent many years earning her reputation as the sweet, lovable girl-next-door. So, it was more than a little surprising when she took on the very provocative role of an unbridled stripper, in the 2004 drama-romance Closer. The film is a talky melodrama which follows two pairs of couples examining their relationships. More importantly, it also stars Natalie Portman as Alice, a pink-wigged stripper. Portman has been acting in movies ever since she was young, though it wasnt until this film that she opted to take on a role that purposely cast a light on her blatant sexuality. The wait was most definitely worth it. Though the movie was billed as an erotic thriller of sorts, nobody was quite prepared to see the actress clad quite so skimpily the moment where she exposes herself to an awed Clive Owen felt rather surreal (in a good way). That pink wig. Her purple thong. The way she so generously crouches down and sticks her backside out to the camera while in the champagne room.
