Who's Involved: Fast and Furious director Justin Lin is taking over helming duties from J.J. Abrams, while Doug Jung (Confidence, Dark Blue) co-writes the script with Simon Pegg. The majority of the previous movie's cast are expected to return, and Bryan Cranston is reportedly also in talks to play the movie's villain. What's It About: Little is known yet, except that the movie will take place in deep space and will apparently be much closer in tone to the original TV series. Why We Should Care: Because the first two movies successfully rebooted the Star Trek franchise for a new generation, and this trilogy-capper will hopefully deliver more of the same gorgeous visuals and space opera fun. When's It Due: July 8, 2016, in time for Star Trek's 50th anniversary.
