Who's Involved: Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper) is writing and directing, while the majority of the cast from Episode VII are expected to appear. What's It About: The continued adventures of Han Solo (Harrison Ford), Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) along with the new group of heroes established in Episode VII, including Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Why We Should Care: Because...it's Star Wars! Assuming Episode VII isn't a total pile of hot garbage, Episode VIII will hopefully build on the first film with a more confident and assured effort that cements the sequel trilogy's status as legitimate and much closer in quality to the original trilogy. When's It Due: December 2017. Which in-development movies are you most excited about? Shout it out in the comments!
