30. Apartment 1303 3D (2012)

The kind of airhead that gives Blondes a bad name, Janet (Julianne Michelle) signs a lease on a 13th floor apartment where the lights flicker, a Creepy Kid plays in the hallway and the building superintendent, by way of greeting, says, “Show me your tits!” Then she discovers that each of the previous tenants committed suicide after four days. Oh, and the place is haunted.

So begins Apartment 1303, a 3D remake of Japanese filmmaker Ataru Oikawa’s 2007 chiller, which marks Michael Taverna’s first directorial outing since his debut, 1996’s Managua. He must’ve spent the interim learning tips from George Lucas because 1303 takes place in a galaxy far, far away, where Police Chief Wiggum-ish cops exist to deliver exposition, nobody is what they appear to be and a woman thinks nothing of moving into a $750-a-month apartment sight unseen.

Throw in some soap opera-level performances, add a handful (okay, a heaping handful) of corny plot twists, sprinkle with clunky dialogue and you have the most delirious anti-masterpiece since I Know Who Killed Me. Bad Movie lovers with a sense of humour, who like their cheese extra thick, are advised to watch this immediately.
