After the first fight scene between Brian and Tony Jaa's mercenary sidekick character, Jaa manages to lock Brian inside the bus, followed by the quip, "Too slow". It seems that everything's over for Brian as the bus slides to the cliff edge and he desperately tries to make his escape. After climbing out the back of it, he quickly scales to the top and begins running across it, just as the bus starts to slide hundreds of feet to the ground below. Brian makes a daring leap and, just in time, Letty pulls up in her car to make the save, giving Brian something to cling to (as in, the back of her car), while she spins him clear of the cliff edge, to which all he can say is, "Thanks." To be honest, if the filmmakers had decided to kill Brian off rather than "retire" his character, this would've been a pretty straightforward (if undeniably tasteless) way to do it.
