If you're a dog lover, then watching these movies is a pretty traumatic experience. Firstly, in the original movie, the Rockatansky's family dog ends up brutally mutilated and hung up in the woods as Jessie tries to flee Toecutter's gang. Then, in the second film, Max's new dog (known simply as "dog") is ruthlessly killed with a crossbow by one of Lord Humungus' cronies. Thankfully Max doesn't take on a canine in Beyond Thunderdome, and fingers are very much crossed that he doesn't in Fury Road either.
