4 Best and 5 Worst "Twists" of 2012 Movies

3. Johnny Depp Returns to 21 Jump Street

It was rumored to happen, but you definitely forget about Johnny Depp popping up somewhere in a cameo role while you're watching all the hilarity that is 21 Jump Street. And when Depp does show up, he's not only paying homage to his time on the show (by doing something his character would be doing), but he also gets a send-off with fellow actor Peter DeLuise to keep them from any sequels. Should cameos count as "twists?" Not in the traditional sense, as this didn't change the movie in any specific way, but it was the perfect way to cameo a part, and the reveal was certainly worth cheering for, even if you had never watched the show to begin with.

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
