4 Ways Don Jon Shows Joseph Gordon-Levitt Will Be A Great Filmmaker (And 4 Things He Needs to Fix)

2. His Resolution Was A Bit Abrupt

Don Jon 4 This was a popular topic I heard as the audience left the packed theatre at film's end. The way Don Jon wraps up is simply too abrupt. Obviously this entry will be talking about the ending and again, though I won't spoil anything outright, I'm going to be dropping lots of hints. The ending involves Jon and one of the major female characters. While the climax does have some precedence, it feels largely tacked on. It wasn't set up nearly as strongly as it could have been. All I can say without spoiling things is that if JGL wanted an ending like this, he should have given us more access to this relationship earlier so that it would truly resonate later on.
