4. Having A Stalker Boyfriend Is Okay
In the first film, Bella meets Edward and they get to know each other a little bit. Not long afterwards, Edward becomes obsessed with Bella and then begins to pretty much stalk her. He follows her around school and he even sits outside her bedroom window, watching her sleep. Its incredibly creepy and the only explanation they actually offer is that Edward is so intrigued by Bella that he feels protective of her. A protective boyfriend is all well and good to an extent but I think a certain line has been crossed when youre sat on her window ledge peering into her room while shes counting sheep. Theres a very big difference between driving you home late at night because theyre worried you might get mugged and just outright stalking. The worrying thing is some girls who are fans of the books think this is cute. They think its adorable that Edward is so protective of Bella, when in reality this kind of behaviour is almost completely the opposite of normality. Edward should have spent the majority of the first Twilight book preparing a defence for a restraining order Bella was having put on him.
