40 Most Ridiculous Moments In The Fast & Furious Franchise

3. The Bank Vault Heist (Fast Five)

The award for best (if perhaps not quite the most ridiculous) set-piece in the series goes to the Rio vault chase at the end of Fast Five. Watching Dom and Brian drag this gigantic vault through the streets, throwing cop cars around like they're play-toys, and causing a good deal of property damage to the surrounding environments, was a gleeful rebuke to the increasingly CGI-infused action sequences of the first four movies. Director Justin Lin opted to shoot as much of the scene as practically as possible (the vault itself is actually a disguised car, with a man inside steering it), using visual effects to augment certain moments and where it was physically impossible to pull it off for real. The results, of course, speak for themselves.
