Nevilles jinx against the Death Eaters is Petrificus Totalus, the same one Hermione used on him in Philosophers Stone. However, he casts it off camera; we see only the after-shot. In what is perhaps another bit of foreshadowing, Luna compliments him on it before they start running for their lives. Perhaps she's just being polite, but she might also see him as a kindred (rejected) spirit.
15. Let's Do The Time Warp
The Millennium Bridge that the Death Eaters destroy at the beginning of the film did not actually exist during the year that Half-Blood Prince is set in (1996-1997). In the book, it was the Brockdale Bridge that was destroyed. Harrys copy of the Daily Prophet indicates that Muggles died during the incident, but the shot of the bridge falling in the water shows that everyone appears to have made it to safety.
14. He Said What?
There are no Defense Against the Dark Arts classes depicted in the film, even though the Gryffindor table is visibly disturbed that Snape has finally gotten the DADA job in The Half-Blood Prince. BTW: the dark-haired girl down the left-hand side with her chin on her fist is Romilda Vane, the girl with designs on Harry.
13. Looks Like A Draught Of Real Death, Instead
Neville, Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, Lavender Brown, Pansy Parkinson, Romilda Vane, Crabbe and Goyle are all taking Slughorn's Potions class, even though they either did not qualify or sign up for it, according to the book.
